New single from Polish born, US based composer, producer and vocalist Derek Piotr. Taken from his forthcoming fifth album 'Bahar' (his first for Bit-Phalanx Music) 'Tennis' is a shuffling, near-samba beat over which Piotr delivers one of his most direct and assured vocal lines, with personal lyrical content exploring forgiveness over personal loss.
'Tennis' went through approximately fifty versions, with Piotr spending over a year programming the sound design, beats, and vocal lines, striking a fine balance between laptop-happy glitch and laid-back tropical thump. The recordings of birds in the song are mic spillover from the forest he recorded the vocal takes in.
The single comes with an exclusive 'Bass Clarinet' acoustic mix of other album track, 'Exchanges'.
